One part of SEO many have heard of is keyword research. After all, every time we use a search engine, we’re using a keyword (the name is a misnomer, most keywords have more than one word in them!) While designing a new house, don’t you want to ensure that it’s foundation is strong enough to hold the house, and is logically designed to make it easier to go around and yet keep it beautiful? The same concept goes for your the website. A good site structure is all about keeping its navigation and logic simple, yet intuitive. Users willoccasionally come to a page that doesn't exist on your site, either by following a broken link or typing in the wrong URL. Having a custom 404 page that kindly guides users back to a working page on your site can greatly improve a user's experience. Your 404 page should probably have a link back to your root page and could also provide links to popular or related content on your site. However, you can find a duplicate content checker quite easily. So, how’s this affect you? What kind of word-count should you shoot for with your web pages and blog posts? Is Google going to downgrade your valuable content? Don’t panic: as long as you’re not doing anything sketchy, you should be fine.
Consider CTR at the inceptionAbove all else, never be tempted to plagiarise. For years SEOs have focussed on the sharp end of the funnel. and for good reason: the search terms with transactional intent bring in revenue. Let’s be clear, these search terms should remain a staple of any website focussed on ROI. Quick acceptance of failure is what keeps a web marketing program profitable. Traditional aspects like links and content are still major factors, but we’ve seen clients with no links and no content rank #1 for incredibly competitive keywords (case study later in the book). Overusing keywords or keyword stuffing is a big NO. Overusing keywords can result in high bounce rates, and put off potential customers from engaging with your content. If you repeat your keyword multiple times in a paragraph, it’s not going to be fun or engaging for the potential customer to read, and as such they might click off your website and look elsewhere.
Pay-for-placement in the search engines is a terrible ideaall this would directly affect the site popularity or the time they spend in each page. If you want to generate traffic through search, it’s best to do keyword research before you start writing. This way, you can focus on keywords for which a certain amount of search volume already exists – in other words, write toward topics that people are already searching for information about. SEO copywriting refers to the art of writing copy that ranks well in search. It is relatively easy to do (if you have some experience), and it’s an excellent way to gain valuable web traffic without spending thousands of dollars on paid advertising. There are many reasons why SEO is an important part of your marketing strategy. There is a lot one of can write about on their web page, the key is to keep varying your content. If you continue to rewrite one thing you found interesting, you can get any expert you want to spin it, at one point it is just going to stop interesting the reader. Search Engine Optimization is the process of optimizing a site for search engines, so search engines are able to rank your site accordingly and therefore drive more traffic to your site, when users are searching (via a search engine) for your niche, business or service.
Its all about canonical URLsAccording to SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "SEO is an example of cumulative work adding to the reputation of a website or webpage, so the impact builds up slowly." This is where the confusion comes in. You’ve created a website and published it on the web, but now you’re probably wondering how people — the right people, those who’ll be interested in who you are and what you do — will find you. You’ve heard about search engine optimization, or SEO, but don’t have the first clue how it works. Do not spam people to build backlinks for yourself. Search engines will also punish you if your name is attached to spamming complaints or if you operate your website anonymously. They’re therefore considered to be “thin”.
Confusion is a common issue facing inbound marketersThe cornerstone of a successful organic search campaign has always been technical SEO. To prove your value and make the most of your SEO knowledge, you need to sell management on the idea of investing in it. Google just needs evidence that what is on a particular website is relevant to it’s viewers. Google also takes extra focus on the anchor texts. Just like the page content, the backlink anchors help to tell Google what the pages are all about. While domain strength is similar to domain authority and both are measured on a scale of 0 to 100, the former tend to concentrate on individual pages. Most sites have multiple pages with different content; domain.
Questions to ask about inbound linksHowever, not all content is indexed. Publishing pages that are too short is a mistake that webmasters often make, especially those who want to better their search engine rankings and SEO value. As an example, duplicate URLs are created when URLs such as /page/ and /page/index.html, or /page and /page.html, render the same content. A backlink from a moreimportant page that is high in popularity itself will count more toward a higher ranking for your website. Your content can target any audience, but if it doesn’t sufficiently deliver the information that audience is seeking, you’re out of luck.
